Why Do You Over Eat?

I wasn't hungry. Actually, I was
feeling kind of full, but I still found myself in
the kitchen looking for something more to eat. On
a normal night, I usually don't feel like that.
Looking to eat more for no physical reason. But
tonight wasn't a normal night. It was the night
before a holiday. A holiday known for people
overeating until they are stuffed to the
gills. Weight loss does not even enter the
picture. So I stopped and thought about why I
was doing what I was doing. And as I stood there
in the kitchen, staring into the open
refrigerator, I realized that I was looking for
more to eat because that is what I thought I
should be doing. Eating more. And it was all
because of the holiday.
Like I said, it was the night before
a holiday. It was a time for celebration. A time
to do what I normally would not do. Eat and drink
as much as I wanted. It was the "Holiday Excuse"
to pig out.
I then had a momentary sense of
consciousness and said "Wait, what am I doing
searching for more to eat." When I realized it was
the "Holiday Excuse" to overeat, I stopped.
My desire for more food was overcome by my common
sense that said I really wasn't hungry and that
this feeling was really just a bad habit that I
needed to overcome.
With this new found realization in
my head, I was able to stop my food search and go
on with my evening - without eating anything else.
Looking back on that night, I feel really good
about myself and that I was really in control of
my mind and body. That this control would now be
my new weight loss diet program. A natural weight
loss plan.
